The construction of METU Research Center, which was established with the aim of enabling the Research and Application Centers at our university to carry out their research activities more effectively, increasing the utilization of the centers’ infrastructure by a greater number of researchers across the university, fostering interdisciplinary research projects among centers, and enhancing the contribution of the University's research activities in its priority areas to industry and society, began in 2015 and was officially opened on July 10, 2024.

In addition to hosting existing centers, the METU Research Center was designed to provide spatial support for new research clusters. By facilitating the shared use of specialized spaces such as laboratories and research cleanrooms with varying characteristics, the Center contributes to the more efficient and effective use of the university’s research resources. Covering approximately 23,000 m² of indoor space, the facility includes laboratories, research areas, research offices, seminar and meeting rooms, exhibition areas, social spaces, and an underground parking area.
